The job interview process can be extremely stressful especially if you haven't gone through it in a long time or you don't feel like you're in control of the situation. My dear friend @jaynemattson lays out some really excellent advice for not getting into salary expectation conversations too soon in the process.
In many situations potential employers will ask candidates about their salary expectations, but Jayne cautions responding too quickly. She says, "If you answer this question at all, you begin negotiating your pay before you even know if you want the job."
For tactical responses to this tricky question, check out her most recent blog post, Interviewing? This is How You Answer The Money Question: https://jaynemattson.com/blog/f/interviewing-this-is-how-you-answer-the-money-question
I'd also highly suggest seeking out advice and help from a mentor or someone you trust anytime you are going through an interview process. An outside perspective will help you uncover questions, red flags or areas of opportunity you may not have been aware of.
